About the event
During the 19th century, miners and engineers from Cornwall, England brought their equipment and mining expertise to Gold Hill and helped it become a prosperous gold mining village. We will be celebrating this heritage with Cornish traditions, merriment and treats!
The Snow Queen will be here from 11 am – 2 pm stopping in the shops and posing for pictures in the arbor from 12-1.
We will have a face painter and a balloon artist starting at 11 am and Glen the Magician from 12-2:30. All will be traveling around the village, so be on the lookout!
Back Street Mercantile will be serving wood-fire pizza with a Cornish twist all day; and Flynn’s Village Grill will be offering a Cornish Christmas dinner.
For a special treat, Montgomery Store will be serving Clotted Cream Tea, Scones and Jam from 1-4 pm, along with live Christmas Bluegrass!
And don’t forget Santa Claus! Arriving at noon, Santa will stroll though the shops before stopping at the arbor for children to visit and picture opportunities from 1-3. At 3 pm, Santa will light the Yuletide Log and we will have a marshmallow roast in the arbor fireplace and enjoy some warm wassail and caroling under the Kissing Ball!
